Tremoloid is an independent editorial project, not a peer-reviewed journal. We prize clarity, fieldwork honesty, and a writer's voice you can hear in the first paragraph. We are slow readers and slower editors — give us something that earns the wait.
1,800–4,500 words. Markdown or Google Doc. Original thin-section photos, site maps, and a short contributor bio (≤ 80 words). We do not accept previously published work, in whole or in part, without prior conversation.
Subjects at the intersection of mineral science and the working life of geologists. Tremolite group minerals, skarns, asbestos provenance, mine-site documentation, and quiet regional tectonics. We rarely run pure lab science without a human thread.
Expect a reply within 21 days, often sooner. We may ask for a revision, a tighter angle, or a co-editor. Accepted pieces go through two editorial passes and a fact-check; we share proofs before publication and you retain copyright of your writing and photography.

Tremoloid is a small editorial team. We make mistakes and we own them. These are the standards we hold every contributor, editor, and source to — and the process we follow when something slips.
We will not publish a quote we have not heard in a recording, read in a transcript, or had read back to us by a named source. On background, fine — on the record, we keep the record.
Every piece carries a footer disclosing grant funding, mine-site access arrangements, consulting relationships, and equipment support. We pay honoraria; we do not pay for placement.
Material errors are corrected at the top of the article, dated, and signed by the handling editor. We do not unpublish, except in cases of libel, privacy breach, or factual fabrication — and we will tell you why.
